Make Quick And Definite Decisions by RYAN BIDDULPH
Self Improvement,Spiritual

Confidence in making decisions is a rare trait among the general public. Many people lack the belief in themselves to make a swift decision in any phase of their lives. Those who have formed the habit of making quick and firm decisions are often the leaders in our society. Stubborn or obstinate are terms that have been used to describe these types, but usually they are just people who make up their mind quickly and resolutely.
The ability to make quick and informed decisions arises out of habit. There is nothing complex about it. Five minutes from now there may be a need to decide on something; make a choice and jump right into action. Most of us spend a great deal of our lives weighing out the pro's and con's of something before we act. Valuable hours, days, weeks, months, and in some cases, years are wasted in our procrastination. All factors do need to be weighed out, but most are professionals when it comes to scrutinizing our analysis to quell our anxieties. It doesn't matter if the wrong choice was made, the most important thing to remember is that a course of action was taken with confidence. Greater faith in self will lead to more decisiveness in the future.
A powerful force in building decision-making ability is knowing what one wants. Those who are poor decision makers are influenced by other's opinions. What other people will think, say, or do is the basis of how they make choices. We all possess grand aspirations deep inside of ourselves, but most fail to act on these because of what our family or friends might say. One feels convinced in taking the first step to freedom, then a family member might say something that entirely dissuades them. At that point the family member is making the choice for them. This occurs so often that it really is one of the tragedies of life. So much talent and ability is wasted because we let other people make decisions for us rather than making them ourselves. We must know what we want and build up that desire every day; the stronger this desire grows, the less and less other people's thoughts enter into our minds. People who possess strong desires build up a wall against the fear of criticism; the opinions of others don't enter their minds when making decisions in their lives.
The ability to make quick and definite decisions often separates success from failure. As we develop the habit of deciding in this manner and building a stronger flame under our desires we will move into action and obtain whatever we want in our lives.
